    Job Description:

    Reporting to the Plant Manager the successful candidate will be responsible for directing and coordinating continuous improvement activities, driving the organization toward efficient operations, by performing the following duties personally or through other employees.  Support the company goals of Zero Defects and 100% On-Time Delivery in a cost-efficient manner.


    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Serves as a change facilitator, develops and collaborates with leadership and influences employees in the transformation of a continuous improvement culture.
    • Identify areas with other functional leaders, employees and customers to develop significant lean opportunities for improvement throughout the organization.
    • Lead the implementation of Lean programs from inception to completion.
    • Confers with management to establish continuous improvement goals/objectives and overall direction.
    • Create metrics, deployment goals, and objectives to drive accountability throughout the organization.
    • Develop training materials and lead training on Lean processes and principles, as well as other training materials as necessary.
    • Facilitates and leads the continuous improvement process by identifying and implementing improvement opportunities and providing training in problem solving methodology, Kaizen, 5S, Kanban, Value Stream Mapping, etc.
    • Ensure open communication throughout the organization by keeping management informed of project status and ensuring coordination and completion of Lean activities.
    • Research, develop and implement processes that have a positive and measurable impact on the business. Complete root cause analysis for problem areas and analyze performance for opportunity.
    • Manage the planning, facilitation and completion of Lean projects to support cost reduction objectives.
    • Maintains current knowledge of lean performance principles and practices and keeps the organization informed.
    • Facilitate safety program and continuous improvement to create a safe working environment.
    • Manages and communicates best practices to all manufacturing plants
    • Promote and maintain a culture and attitude of continuous improvement, working within the company team to make it more efficient, safe and an enjoyable place to work.


    Qualifications and Requirements

    • Minimum of 5 years of related experience required; a suitable combination of education and experience will also be considered.
    • Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university preferred, but not required.
    • Strong knowledge of Lean processes and methodologies within a manufacturing environment.
    • Solid knowledge and demonstrated understanding of Lean/Toyota Production System and methodologies such as: Process Flow Mapping, Value Stream Mapping, 5S/Visual Factory, TPM, SMED, Standard Work, Process Problem Solving and root cause analysis (PDCA), Quality at the Source, Just in Time, Kaizen/Continuous Improvement, project management and cellular development.

    Strength in the following areas required:

    • Microsoft Office experience (word, outlook, excel)
    • Ability to work with and apply mathematical concepts.
    • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
    • Strong communication skills (verbal, written and presentation)
    • Project Management Skills
    • Experience with problem solving methodology.
    • Corrective Action/Root Cause Analysis
    • Well-developed organizational and time management skills.

    Experience in the following areas is preferred:

    • Manufacturing Experience
    • Supervisory/Leadership Experience.
    • Facilitate safety teams


    Physical Demands:

    • Must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.
    • Safety glasses, hearing protection and closed-toe shoes must be worn on the production floor.
    • Some travel, mostly local, is occasionally required.
